This Privacy Policy explains how Nautiq ("Nautiq", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Nautiq mobile application (the "App"). Nautiq is a document-management tool for seafarers that lets you store maritime certificates and documents, track expiry dates, record voyages, build a maritime CV, and back up your data to the cloud.
Your data is stored locally on your device and, when you are signed in, backed up to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage). Firebase processes data on Google's secure infrastructure. See Google's privacy documentation at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
When you use document scanning analysis or the Nautiq AI assistant, the relevant document text or your question is sent to Google's Gemini API (via Firebase AI Logic) to generate a response. This processing is used solely to provide the feature and is subject to Google's terms. We do not use your documents to train our own models.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers needed to run the App (Google Firebase and Google Gemini, as described above), or where required by law. Any document you choose to export or email is shared only at your explicit request.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual documents and voyages in the App at any time. You can delete your entire account and all associated cloud data — see our Account & Data Deletion page.
Depending on your location (including the EU/EEA under the GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
The App is intended for professional seafarers and is not directed at children under 16.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
